An Easy and Intuitive Way to Buy and Sell Cryptocurrency

With tZERO, your cryptocurrency is held in your personal wallet from the moment of purchase. This means only you have access to it and it cannot be hacked or stolen as long as you maintain control of your phone and password. Centralized exchanges hold the keys for you. This is convenient but can cause customers to lose their funds when hackers see large amounts of cryptocurrency in a single location or an exchange ceases to do business either temporarily or permanently. It also results in additional, hidden fees for the withdrawal of your cryptocurrency from the exchange.

A Crypto Exchange Built on a Crypto Wallet

A cryptocurrency wallet, like tZERO Crypto, is a software program or other method of storing cryptographic keys. These keys are required to transact with bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies. That means that keeping keys secure is of the utmost importance. Losing a key is like dropping cash on the ground or in a pond. This is why tZERO Crypto developed the Key Recovery system. It can help you get your money back if you lose your cryptographic keys.

Our Challenges and Solutions

It can challenging to truly grasp what users want or need. Our team had a strong mobile app and website but the users wanted an iPad app. We needed to find a way to make sure the iPad app was light enough not to overwhelm the user but also more robust to offer more than what the mobile app was providing.

Conducting thorough user research, user interviews, and testing helped us gain insights into user behavior and preferences. Through this we found the iPad had features that were specific to the security token trading experience for active day traders. Day traders are quick movers and needed to be able to confidently do their job on the move.

Now that we had our goal in mind and completed several user sessions we jumped into planning mode. We wrote detailed users stories, prioritized tasks and reflected on our design system and process.

Being a team lead my role was to make sure my team felt supported, I was there to remove roadblocks, help challenge the designers by helping them grow in their design skills and presentation skillset all while designing on the project myself.

Working with a cross functional team we needed to make sure that our handoffs were always clean, our designs included specifics for developers and we were quick to respond when others had follow up questions. We managed our work in tasks management software and maintained much of our communication there to ensure we always had the most up to date answers and others could offer additional support on tasks when needed.
